At Watchorn Church we want to let God be God. We seek to submit to God’s will and the teaching of the Bible in all things. This includes our beliefs, e.g., about how and when the world was created, and also what we do, e.g., how the church is structured and led.
Yeshua (Jesus) said, “I will build My church” (Matthew 16:18), so we try to keep our hands off what He wants to do, and instead to cooperate with Him. It can be tempting in church life to be driven sometimes by good ideas, models, and schemes. But at Watchorn our goal is for everything to be thoroughly rooted in prayer and in study of the Scriptures.
Yeshua explained that His Father is a Gardener, adding, “I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever remains in Me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from Me you can do nothing” (John 15:5). We want to bear fruit in our lives that is pleasing to God, by being led and empowered by the Holy Spirit.
